Refugee & Asylum Seeker Integration

PROJECT

The UK’s response to the war in Ukraine and the Taliban regaining control of Afghanistan mean there is an influx of women leaving those countries, (as well as others) and coming to the UK in search of a better life.

While refugees have managed to escape the problems in their home countries, they face more in the countries they migrate to. They face a lot of similar problems, but they also have issues associated with what they go through specifically as migrant and minoritised women. Women at PHOEBE specifically, have said that they have struggled to build a support network and face mental challenges because they struggle with the language barrier.
